Role Description
An Associate Scientist (R1) position is available in the Upstream Process Development group of Bioprocess R&D located in Andover, Massachusetts.
We're seeking a passionate and creative individual to join a dynamic team of scientists and engineers focused on developing robust, scalable, and high productivity cell culture processes for the manufacture of biological therapeutics for early- and late-phase clinical programs.

An Associate Scientist (R1) position is available in the Upstream Process Development group of Bioprocess R&D located in Andover, Massachusetts.
We're seeking a passionate and creative individual to join a dynamic team of scientists and engineers focused on developing robust, scalable, and high productivity cell culture processes for the manufacture of biological therapeutics for early- and late-phase clinical programs.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute experiments in shake flasks, bench-top bioreactors, and other appropriate scale-down equipment in the development laboratory.
- Ensures timely, effective, and high-quality documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks and internal technical reports.
- Communicate results and findings to stake-holders on a regular basis; presents data/strategy to colleagues and management in internal and external venues.
- Assist in the tech transfer of manufacturing processes to pilot, clinical, and commercial facilities.
- Provide support and troubleshoot during manufacturing campaign as needed.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues both within the group and cross-functionally; contribute to maintaining and improving upon our safe, effective and efficient lab operations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA with 0-2 years of relevant experience in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, or other related disciplines.
- Aseptic laboratory technique is required.
- Ability to grasp scientific concepts, interpret data, and formulate new hypothesis.
- Team oriented, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Well organized and great attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Practical knowledge of mammalian cell culture and metabolism is a plus.
- Practical knowledge of bioreactor operations is preferable.
