The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Mary Washington invites applications for a non-tenure track, one year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin August of 2021. UMW is a liberal arts and sciences university dedicated to effective teaching and undergraduate research in an inclusive environment that embraces diverse talents and backgrounds. The department seeks a broadly-trained animal biologist / physiologist. The successful candidate will teach courses in introductory biology, and upper level courses such as animal histology, chordate anatomy or developmental biology. Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduates. The normal teaching load is 12 credit hours per fall and spring semesters. Completion of the Ph.D. is preferred, but those with ABD status are encouraged to apply. Review of applications to begin March 5.
