The Sr. Research Assistant will provide technical skills and administrative support in carrying out various research projects: Focus on skin cancer genomics and target therapies. The primary duties of the Senior Research Assistant is to perform experiments and animal studies using complex techniques. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining supply levels and safety standards in the laboratory as well as for training other personnel in special techniques. The position requires independent decision making, judgment and organizational skills.


1. Laboratory safety/lab management and maintenance:

Order supplies and keep maintenance of lab equipment; Maintain research material banks (cell line bank, antibody bank, and lentivirus banks, etc.) and keep precise records; submit and renewal IBC and animal protocols.

2. Conducts research experiments and projects:

Familiar with major molecular and cellular techniques, including DNA, RNA, protein and cell related manipulations, characterization, determinations and applications. Discuss goals and progress of project during regular lab meetings.

3. Animal research work:

Have working experiences on mouse models, familiar with tumorigenesis, metastasis, therapy and related assays.

4. Data gathering & analysis:

Records and evaluates data in accordance with methods requested.

5. Laboratory meetings & data

Participates in lab meetings and presents data. Fluent spoken and written English is essential. Able to work with database, graphing and word processing computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word. Other lab duties assigned by the supervisor.

6. Other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Required: Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, one year of required experience.

Preferred: Molecular biology experience, mouse handling.
