Visiting Faculty Position in Physical Chemistry at Reed College
The Chemistry Department invites applications for a one-year visiting position, with a possible one-year extension, beginning August 2021. We seek a candidate who can contribute to our upper-level undergraduate curriculum in physical chemistry with a course in chemical thermodynamics and a semester-long physical chemistry laboratory course, as well as to our general chemistry sequence. Teaching duties will also include advising senior thesis students in year-long research projects. A PhD is required; postdoctoral or teaching experience is preferred but not required. The Chemistry Department has excellent resources for innovative teaching and research, including dedicated research lab space, a 400 MHz multinuclear NMR, GC-MS, LC-MS and ICP-MS instruments, a laser laboratory, and a TRIGA nuclear reactor research facility.
