The College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University is seeking a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor scientist who uses approaches appropriate to the study of pathogens and pathogen-host interactions  The position is 85% research, 10% formal teaching in graduate education and 5% service to the Department, College, the University and the profession. The department seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education. 

Faculty in the department are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in research on pathogens that cause significant disease in animals and humans, including those with potential for transmission at the human-animal interface. Additionally, close partnerships with scientists in the USDA-Agricultural Research Service unit housed within the department and scientists in the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health offer numerous opportunities for collaborative research programs. We seek an individual using innovative  technologies to study pathogens that pose a significant health risk to animals and humans. Areas of emphasis include immunology, parasitology, virology, and vector-borne diseases that complement and extend current research programs.  Please visit vmp.vetmed.wsu.edu for more information about faculty and research programs.

Required qualifications include a doctoral degree in a biomedical discipline or a related field, a minimum two years productive postdoctoral research experience, and evidence of the potential to establish an independent competitive research program.
