Assistant Professor, Biology- Neuroscience
We seek candidates who address questions in the regulation of physiological or behavioral outcomes through neural molecular, cellular, and systems approaches. The successful candidate’s research will complement that of existing faculty, enabling collaboration and mentoring of graduate students. Opportunities for collaboration and research support include faculty with research interests in stress biology, behavioral neuroscience, metabolomics, environmental physiology, biomechanics, and animal behavior. Opportunities for collaboration also exist with faculty associated with the USD Center for Brain and Behavior Research (CBBRe) and the interdepartmental neuroscience major. Teaching may include an Introductory course in Neuroscience or upper division courses in Cellular Neuroscience, Physiology, Behavioral Neuroscience, or other courses in the candidate’s area of expertise.
Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field is required. Post-doctoral experience preferred.
