What You Will Achieve

As an Associate Data Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and you'll find that everything we do, every day, is in line with an unwavering commitment to quality. You will analyze large data sets to find previously unknown trends, establish new automated protocols and work processes, and support our lab scientists by creating and deploying a unified data strategy across the entire Analytical R&D organization. Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, principles, and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge. It is your focus and commitment that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

How You Will Achieve It
  • Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management) within the work group.
  • Prepare and review technical documents, organized data sets, and automated dashboards & reports.
  • Direct interaction with project team members, including presentations of data and digital processes.
  • Complete all Good Laboratory Practice {part of GxP} and safety training in compliance with departmental requirements and follow appropriate safety practices in the workplace.
  • Conduct all work according to appropriate Standard Operating Procedures' following Good Manufacturing Practices/Good Laboratory Practices (GMP/GLP) requirements and ensure integrity of all data generated and documented.
  • Independently analyze data, identify trends, and provide conclusions.
  • Present problems and propose solutions in discussions with group members.


  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or similar life science degree.
  • 0-5 years of experience using relevant computer languages (Python, R, SQL, Java) and/or Data Visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects.

  • M.S. in Data Science, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or similar technical degree.
  • Experience as a laboratory scientist.
  • Experience in a biotech environment.
  • Experience in a regulated (ie cGMP) environment.
  • Experience working with end user application scientists.
  • Experience developing and using AI/ML algorithms for data analysis and predictive model generation.

  • Ability to write and/or understand programming languages such as SQL, R, and python.
  • Ability to perform basic statistical modeling.
