National Program Leader

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Office of National Programs, Nutrition, Food Safety, and Quality in Beltsville, MD (Washington D.C. area), is seeking a National Program Leader. Biological Scientist for Human Nutrition with a strong background in the scientific areas of human nutrition sciences, particularly those of clinical nutrition, biochemistry and metabolism, physiology, and molecular biology.  The candidate will serve as a team member that provides national program leadership and coordination of research programs related to human nutrition and the food supply.

The candidate will provide innovative scientific and technical leadership for research performed by ARS at multiple locations around the U.S.  The incumbent provides recommendations for the content, scope, and priorities of national ARS programs in human nutrition research and coordinates the programs to focus on problems of national importance, and where appropriate, collaborates and coordinate with priorities of other national programs. A Ph.D. is highly desirable.  This is a permanent, full-time, federal government position at the GS-15 level located in Beltsville, MD.  Salary is commensurate with experience; ($144,128 - $172,500 per year plus benefits).
