Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the tenure track. Applicants must have an M.D and/or Ph.D or equivalent degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include mentoring of graduate and medical students which is an integral component of this position.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include establishing and maintaining an independent, extramurally funded research program.

The faculty search is in the general field of Computational Genomics and Medicine. We are particularly interested in candidates who creatively develop and apply computational approaches to drive biological discoveries and medical innovations, using large-scale data (e.g. genetic, multi-omic, and clinical) and harnessing cutting-edge technologies (e.g. single-cell, spatial, long-read). Computational biologists who incorporate wet lab research programs are also welcome to apply.

The position is affiliated with the Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). CCGM is housed in the state-of-the-art Colket Translational Research Building. A generous recruitment package and lab space will be provided, together with excellent institutional and core research resources. The recruitment is part of a campus-wide initiative to promote innovative computational strategies for advancing human health and therapy development.

Review of applications will begin on March 15, 2021 and continue until the position is filled.

We seek candidates who embrace and reflect diversity in the broadest sense. The University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia are EOEs. Minorities/women/individuals with disabilities/protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
