Post-doctoral fellow cancer cell biology and genomics

The Marcus laboratory (marcuslab.com) in collaboration with the Boise laboratory are searching for an applicant with expertise in cell biology and an interest in genomics. The Marcus laboratory has developed an imaging-based approach to extract genomic information from rare cancer cells based upon cellular phenotype. We apply this technique to study cancer metastasis and phenotypic heterogeneity with publications in Nature Comms and Science Advances. This project is funded and we are searching for a post-doctoral fellow(s) with cell biology and/or immunology experience (does not necessarily have to be in cancer or the cancer metastasis field). This project will interact with oncologists, bioinformaticists, pathologists, and other researchers in a highly collaborative environment. Our goal is to train a motivated post-doctoral fellow for success by providing the leadership, writing, and experimental skills necessary to excel in a scientific career. The Marcus lab has had a strong track-record of success in pre-doctoral and post-doctoral F31 and F32 training grants and would expect the applicant to apply for a training grant as the project develops. The Marcus lab has received awards for mentorship and research excellence. The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University is located in a suburban area of Atlanta, GA and is the only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in Georgia. Emory is routinely ranked one of the top 25 campuses in the country. Winship offers numerous scientific research cores including imaging, genomics, biostatistics, and proteomics.
