National Jewish Health in Denver, Colorado, a leading respiratory hospital, has an open postdoctoral research fellow position in Dr. Hong Wei Chu’s laboratory in the Department of Medicine (https://www.nationaljewish.org/research-science/programs-depts/medicine/labs/hw-chu).

We perform basic and translational research to understand the immunological and molecular mechanisms of respiratory viruses-mediated exacerbations of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Our lab utilizes human samples, primary airway epithelial cell cultures and animal models to define the signaling pathways and develop therapeutic approaches to reduce the severity of human respiratory diseases. Various techniques have been used in our research, including single cell RNA-sequencing, proteomics, lipidomics, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining, qPCR, western blot, immunoprecipitation, ChIP-seq, mutational studies, siRNA, shRNA, CRISPR/Cas9, and other biochemical techniques.

We are seeking a candidate with a PhD degree in immunology, biochemistry or molecular biology.  Prior experience in the foregoing laboratory skills is an advantage.

For consideration, please submit your CV a brief summary of previous research experience and contact information for 3 references to Hong Wei Chu, MD at chuhw@njhealth.org
