The Yale Department of Pediatrics is seeking multiple outstanding pediatric physician-scientists to join the Department as we initiate a significant expansion to our research enterprise. These new physician-scientists will develop a clinically-based or laboratory-based research program in any of the following key thematic areas: Infection/Immunity, Genomics, developmental or applied Neuroscience, Inflammation, Respiratory Biology/Cystic Fibrosis, Health Services Research/ Implementation Science, or Cancer Biology.

With over 200 faculty members, the Department of Pediatrics is the third largest department in the Yale School of Medicine. The Department supports leading programs and multidisciplinary clinics, has an outstanding record of high impact publications, and has been ranked among the best in the nation in nine of its pediatric specialties in the 2019 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings by US News and World Report. Members of the Yale Department of Pediatrics are leaders in the global pediatric community, innovators in research, and advocates for improving health and development of children. The Department ranks among the top pediatric centers in the country in support for research from the National Institutes of Health.

These full-time ladder-track academic appointments will be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level in the Yale School of Medicine, depending on the applicants’ qualifications. Requirements include an MD, DO, or equivalent foreign degree; eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Connecticut; and board certification in Pediatrics. A generous benefits package includes tuition remission for qualified dependents. In order to be eligible for university sponsorship for an H1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-US.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent, as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. In addition to their research activities, these new physician-scientists are expected to spend approximately 25% of their time engaged in clinical duties. Priority will be given to independently funded researchers.
