Description: A Senior Research Investigator position is available to investigate innate and adaptive immune mechanisms driving inflammatory pathology at systemic and mucosal surfaces, and to develop strategies to control inflammation-induced tissue damage. The laboratory is located in the Department of Basic and Translational Sciences, Penn Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, with access to state-of-the-art core facilities and a collegial work environment. The position involves the design and performance of advanced research, daily operational, financial, and related activities of assigned research facilities and maintaining an orderly and safe laboratory. The position will also involve supervision of lab personnel and students. Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D. in Immunology or related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of post-doctoral experience with demonstrable record of high-impact publications. Excellent writing and communication and organizational skills are essential. Extensive experience in immunological and molecular biology techniques and mouse models of disease is required. Prior experience in working with periodontitis or other mucosal inflammatory diseases is preferred. Mastery of protein expression and purification techniques is preferred.
