Post Doc Fellow
Postdoctoral position supported by newly funded NIH grant. The appointee will be supervised by the principal investigator, Brian Weiser. The project is in the area of DNA replication and repair and examines proteins involved in these processes. The work is fundamentally related to adaptive immunity and certain chemotherapies which are affected by DNA repair.
The appointee is expected to perform independent research, analyze and interpret results, and communicate results in oral/poster presentations, including at appropriate scientific meetings. The appointed postdoc will be encouraged to publish and develop their own research ideas in the context of DNA Repair. The appointed postdoc will be mentored in a variety of areas including: tissue culture, viral vectors, enzymology, mass spectrometry, fluorescence spectroscopy, and pharmacology.
The appointee will join an interactive environment affiliated with Rowan University’s Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The position is located in Stratford, NJ- a suburban south New Jersey community with an easy commute by train or car to Center City Philadelphia. The campus contains state of the art facilities and instrumentation. In addition, teaching opportunities are available (if desired) along with Career Development and other mentoring.
Applicants with diverse scientific backgrounds are encouraged to apply. A PhD or equivalent is required in any of the following: Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Biophysics, Chemical Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or a related field. The candidate must have a strong publication record and provide references. Candidate should have experience with traditional biochemistry and cell biology techniques. The candidate does not need a specific background in DNA repair or related field.
