Job Summary

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine is looking for a Full-time (9-month) Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Parasitology in the Department of Comparative Pathobiology (CPB).

Principal Duties

Establishment of an extramurally funded independent research program in the area of antiparasitic resistance or host-parasite interactions. Teaching veterinary and graduate-level courses and mentorship of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in parasitology or a related field and postdoctoral experience with protozoa or other parasites of veterinary and/or public health importance. Candidates who are applying for the position at the Associate Professor level must have a strong record of extramural funding. The successful candidate will have an excellent potential for developing an extramurally funded research program; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; strong interest in teaching and mentoring; and commitment to diversity. Position requires proven ability to publish 

high-quality peer-reviewed research. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine focuses on globally advancing animal and human health and well-being through excellence in learning, discovery and engagement. The Department   of Comparative Pathobiology has about 38 faculty members and 45 graduate students. Faculty have expertise and research interests in parasitology, immunology, microbiology, virology, toxicology, pathology, public health, epidemiology, human-animal interaction, and animal welfare science (https://www.purdue.edu/vet/cpb/).
