Applications are requested for a post-doctoral position working in a NIH funded project at the University of California San Diego. We are looking for a motivated postdoctoral fellow to investigate the regulatory and functional mechanisms of epitranscriptomics and epigenetics in retinal cells during aging, progression of degeneration and therapeutic response. We are particularly interested in, but not limited to, generation of retinal single cell 3D genome maps, the role of RNA/DNA modifications in retinal cells during aging, progression of degeneration and therapeutic response in patient tissue, iPSC models and animal models (http://ayyagarilab.ucsd.edu/).

Applicants must be a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree graduate (awarded in the past two years or expecting to complete within 3 months) in the biological sciences. Demonstrated expertise in molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques, is preferred. Experience with mammalian cell culture, microscopy, immunoassays, molecular biology, animal models and bioinformatics is desirable. Motivated individuals with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a research team are encouraged to apply.
