The Department of Biology at San Diego State University (SDSU) is recruiting an individual at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will use computational approaches to investigate fundamental or applied questions of importance in broad areas of Biology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, genomics, evolution, development, molecular biology, cell biology, and synthetic biology.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of research accomplishments, extramural support, and a capacity for mentoring, teaching, and collaboration. Candidates will be expected to mentor students in our Doctoral programs (offered jointly with the University of California) and Master of Science programs; participate in the undergraduate and graduate teaching mission of SDSU; establish interdisciplinary collaborations with both Biology and Computer Science faculty; actively participate in both the Biological and Medical Informatics Program and the Computational Science Research Center; and bolster the university’s computational research portfolio.
