Postdoctoral Fellowship in Environmental Impact on Reproductive Health

A new postdoctoral position is available at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology (IGB) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This project is multidisciplinary, interfacing with collaborators in reproductive physiology, environmental health, bioengineering and mechanobiology. The central interest of Environmental Impact on Reproductive Health theme at IGB is focused on improving reproductive health by gaining fundamental knowledge in both normal variation in reproductive function and fertility disorders/diseases. The Fellow will work collaboratively with multiple theme faculty members on a project involving the use of genome-wide transcriptomics, and bioengineering tools to develop platforms to study the physiology and pathology of the reproductive system to investigate the effects of exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals on fertility.

Preference will be given to candidates with a background in reproductive toxicology, molecular and cellular biology, or bioengineering. Desirable technical skills include primary cell isolation from tissues, RNAseq analyses, and bioinformatics. Interested applicants should send their curriculum vitae, along with contact information of three references, and a cover letter describing research accomplishments and career goals electronically to Professor Indrani Bagchi (Co-Theme Leader, ibagchi@illinois.edu) and Jodi Flaws (Co-Theme leader, jflaws@illinois.edu) by April 15, 2021.
