Postdoctoral Fellows and Senior Scientists in Computational Neuroscience

The Mount Sinai Center for Transformative Disease Modeling (MSCTDM) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, led by Prof. Bin Zhang, is seeking excellent candidates for Postdoctoral Fellows and Senior Scientists in Computational Biology. Candidates must have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, or a closely related field. The successful candidates are expected to apply novel network inference and mining algorithms to analyze large scale genetic, epigenetic, genomic, and clinical data in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's etc. The candidates will be responsible for identification of novel disease targets and pathways and development of biologically plausible disease models for experimental and clinical validations. The candidates will work in a multidisciplinary environment including an international team of leading scientists in systems biology, cancer and neuroscience.

MSCTDM aims to develop novel insights on critical biological networks underlying the onset and/or progression of complex, multifactorial diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, cancers, diabetes and infectious diseases and to parlay these information towards the development of next-generation therapeutics. Several influential gene network inference algorithms developed by MSCTDM have been extensively used for identification of novel pathways and gene targets as well as development of drugs. The new additions to MSCTDM are expected to significantly broaden and deepen our current state-of-the-art research in ageing and neurodegenerative diseases.

For more information about MSCTDM and Prof. Zhang’s laboratory, please visit https://icahn.mssm.edu/research/transformative-disease-modeling and http://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/binzhanglab/, respectively. Please send your cover letter and resume alongside contact information of at least three referees to Prof. Bin Zhang (email: bin.zhang@mssm.edu).
