An NIH-funded postdoctoral research position is available at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in the Ray Research Group. We are seeking a qualified and highly motivated recent Ph.D in Chemistry, Bio/Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field to join a multidisciplinary team to develop wearable microfluidic diagnostic platforms for diabetes and cystic fibrosis. For examples of our work, see https://rayresearchgroup.com.
The position requires expertise in the fabrication and testing of both biochemical sensors and microfluidic devices. The candidate should have expertise in the synthesis/fabrication of biochemical sensors (suited for wearables), paper microfluidics, and/or lab-on-chip devices. The applicant should also have demonstrated expertise in chemical synthesis, polymer chemistry, or materials chemistry.
The postdoctoral researcher will work collaboratively towards the development of robust, body-worn sensors. A strong publication record and training to perform independent research are required for further consideration. A successful candidate will work well in independent and team-based settings, willing to solve challenging problems, and has excellent written and oral communication skills.
Interested applicants will need to apply via www.RCUH.com (Job Posting ID#221010) or directly at the following link: http://go.hawaii.edu/J2z . The applicant must provide 1) Cover Letter, 2) Resume, 3) Supervisory References, 4) Copy of Degree(s)/Transcript(s)/Certificate(s).
It is recommended to send a copy of these materials to raygroup@hawaii.edu.
