The Research Strategy and Portfolio Management department oversees cross-functional activities within Research that are essential to discovery and development of new drugs. Specific goals of the group are to ensure alignment with Gilead R&D governance process, strategically and effectively plan and organize resources to maximize product value, analyse resource allocation across the research portfolio, and maintain research archival materials. This role is to provide operations support in planning, resource management and reporting.
Under general supervision, the ideal candidate should have an interest in the pharmaceutical industry as a whole, but project management and portfolio analytics in particular. The candidate should also have strong computer skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint. In addition, excellent communication skills and attention to details, ability to consolidate, analyse and QC data and strong work ethic are necessary. The position includes specific projects related to: 1) understanding the Gilead portfolio 2) gathering, consolidating and QC data 3) and be motivated to self-manage in a professional work environment.
Job Responsibilities may include the following tasks:
- The ability to learn the drug development process
- Understanding reports and how they relate to the Long Range Plan
- Possess excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Undergraduate in related field enrolled in an accredited university/college
- Good verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required
- Ability to complete 10-12 consecutive weeks between May and September
