The College of Science and Mathematics at Kennesaw State University seeks a visionary and effective leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. This twelve-month position begins on July 1, 2021, and the successful applicant must meet the requirements of a full professor. The ideal candidate will have a distinguished record in a field that interfaces with the Department's research programs, a strong history of extramural funding, records of excellence in teaching and professional service, and a demonstrated commitment to shared governance, collaborative decision-making and the incorporation of inclusive excellence principles in teaching, research, and administrative operations in the department.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an extramurally funded research program in molecular, cellular, developmental or microbial biology. Primary responsibilities of the Chair include recruiting and managing faculty and staff, managing department budget and resources, providing oversight of academic programs, and implementing a plan designed to strengthen KSU as an R2 institution.
