The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology in the College of Science and Mathematics at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology that begins in August 2021.

The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology is one of five departments in the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM). We serve a diverse student population. With colleagues in the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology we offer B.S. degrees in Biology and Environmental Science. The B.S. in Biology provides several tracks including Cell and Molecular Biology. We also offer a M.S. program in Integrative Biology. Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to establish an extramurally-funded research program addressing an important problem in cellular and/or molecular biology. Research programs in our department are found at (https://csm.kennesaw.edu/mcb/index.php). Teaching assignments include undergraduate courses in immunology and related areas, and graduate courses that integrate cell/molecular biology with other disciplines. Applicants who will promote CSM’s commitment to inclusive excellence in STEM research and education are particularly welcome. 

Advising and mentoring of undergraduates and graduate students is expected. 

Required Qualifications:

1) an earned doctorate (or its foreign equivalent) in Cell and/or Molecular Biology or a closely-related discipline;

2) post-doctoral experience;

3) peer-reviewed publications (or accepted manuscripts);

4) a research proposal deemed likely to attract extramural funding. 

Preferred Qualifications:

•Success in obtaining extramural funding

•A record of teaching at the university level and/or mentoring undergraduates and graduate students

•Commitment to inclusive excellence in teaching and research
