ROLE SUMMARY

The Integrated Planning System Analyst is part of the GPD PPM Group and is experienced in project management discipline to apply innovative solutions to planning and management of Pfizer's drug development processes. This role enables the Category portfolio analysis, reporting/information management, and resource forecasting/management, able to develop scenarios in support of an asset, clinical study, or submissions cycle time reduction goal, and analyzes asset, study, and submission plan data and attributes to drive data quality in the portfolio plans and accurate portfolio analysis and performance metrics. This role is expected to lead, work independently and collaborate across Functional Lines (Global PPM including DevJapan and DevChina PPM, PharmSci, DSRD, Resource Management), Partner Lines (Digital, Finance, PDA) and technology vendors/consultants to optimize planning and project management capabilities through analysis and design techniques to solve business problems using information technology. This role will be responsible for ensuring Enterprise Pfizer project management tools and systems (Planisware, Snapshot, Microsoft Project Online, RAPID Hub) that enable the organization (GPD, WRDM, PIH, Finance) to manage the whole Pfizer portfolio of Assets, Studies, and Submissions from Discovery to Post-Launch are secured, well maintained, reliably, and efficiently operating. These systems serve all Pfizer Portfolio across all Business Categories where data outputs drive insights and enable decision making for portfolio, projects, studies, resourcing, and financials. The Integrated System Analyst should be an expert and experienced in design, system testing, change management, security, procedural documentation, leading governance, continuous improvement strategy and implementation. Knowledge and experience with project management is critical to effectively lead continuous improvement in planning and project management capabilities, processes, and develop innovative solutions with structured scope, guidelines, timeline and requirements. This colleague will be a change agent to identify opportunities and design innovative solutions to improve business productivity. This colleague should have proven ability to think outside the box, find effective solutions for the business, adept at investigating/ troubleshooting problems and execute solutions efficiently. Integrated Planning System Analyst must be an expert in programming languages, operating systems and hardware. Strong experience in leading and communicating with cross-functional roles, business lines, and vendors to ensure system security, drive process improvements, implement solutions, and manage disaster recovery situations ensuring no loss of portfolio plan, financial, and resource forecasts from Discovery to Post-Launch.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise planning and project management innovative capabilities and technologies enabling Global PPM including DevJapan and DevChina PPM, Functional Lines, and Partner Lines in the RAPID (Resource & Planning Insights for Decisions) ecosystem to plan and forecast Drug Development from Discovery to Post Launch across all Business Categories and enable portfolio decision making.

Project Management
  • Deep understanding and ability to apply foundational Project Management, Project Planning, Portfolio Management, and Resource Management capabilities and translate them into innovative solutions increasing productivity
  • Develop scenarios in support of a clinical development plan, which may include, but are not limited to: medicine, candidate/indication, clinical studies, submissions planning.
  • Lead cross functional change management governance to strategize innovative solutions, necessary upgrades and system changes with robust communication, risk management, and implementation plans (roadmap, deliverables, timeline, budget, resource demand, prioritization and value impact of investments to the organization).


Analysis
  • Analyze asset, study, and submission plan data and attributes to drive data quality in the portfolio plans and enable accurate portfolio analysis and performance metrics
  • Synthesize facts and information from varied data sources, both new and pre-existing, into discernable insights and perspectives.
  • Problem solve and triage issues to ensure immediate resolution and proactive escalation to maintain business continuity for managing the enterprise portfolio (ensuring no portfolio, financial and resource forecast data loss)
  • Develop and implement analytical tools to assess data quality entered in systems to enable quality planning and forecasting to inform leadership portfolio decision making
  • Identify inefficiencies and/or gaps in processes, recommend solutions for process improvements, lead cross functional teams to implement system/technology enhancements


Procedures and Standards
  • Develop and manage centralized knowledge management tools (procedures, reference guides, data architecture and requirements, disaster recovery plan, change management) to ensure business continuity, data quality in drug development plans, process efficiency, and support security audits
  • Lead, project manage and liaise with Business Line SMEs and technical groups to modify procedures to solve problems impacting enterprise system capacity and limitations to ensure business continuity for an ever evolving and growing Pfizer portfolio
  • Manage system workflow to ensure all enterprise systems are operating as expected and risk mitigate potential loss of portfolio data
  • Manage system security and business continuity plans for enterprise project management systems/tools for end to end Pfizer portfolio (from Discovery to Post Launch) serving various Lines (GPD, WRDM, PIH, Finance). Some activities include managing security access to enterprise systems, project manage system release activities, disaster recovery action plan, implementation of system fixes and upgrades


Communication
  • Translate and distill the complex, technical findings of the team into commentary that facilitates effective decision making by senior leaders; align interpersonal style with the individual needs of various Functional Lines
  • Communicate and present to various levels of the organization, RAPID's performance analysis, risk management plan and continuous improvement strategies & implementation
  • Collaborate with Digital teams and Technology Vendors and Services to understand and influence products and platforms direction, usability, features and performance to assist business efficiency and quality.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of experience as a system administrator, business analyst, consultant, or equivalent roles.
  • Technical certifications or accreditation (e.g. Planisware, Microsoft Project)
  • Expert in Project Management Systems/Tools: Experience managing and technical aptitude with software system and standards, including all stages of the system lifecycle (Planisware, Microsoft Project, pega platform, sharepoint)
  • Strong Data and Information Management: High-quality work with attention to detail, understands and uses analytical skills/tools to produce data in a clean, organized way to drive objective insights.
  • Excellent skillset in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Spotfire, Power BI, and other reporting/analytical/communication tools.
  • Skilled with data processing, reporting and have at a minimum experience with query tools/data extraction techniques (i.e. SQL, PL/SQL)
  • Proactive Self-Starter: Takes an active role in one's own professional development; stays abreast of analytical trends, and cutting-edge applications of data.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage own work under established processes and standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred experience with project management, portfolio management, planning, and/or resource management practices.
  • Preferred working knowledge of the Drug Development process.
  • Project Management discipline knowledge.
