We seek Postdoctoral Research Associates to join research projects investigating the basis of neurodevelopmental disorders in the laboratory of Kristen Kroll at Washington University School of Medicine. The lab works in collaboration with Washington University’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (https://sites.wustl.edu/krolllab/cellular_models/) and uses human subject-derived pluripotent stem cell models, mouse models, and genomic, cellular, molecular, and biochemical approaches to elucidate gene regulatory networks controlling multiple aspects of human brain development. We are defining how transcriptional and epigenetic regulation controls these networks and determining how their dysregulation contributes to neurodevelopmental disorders. For additional information about our ongoing National Institutes of Health- and foundation-funded research projects, please see: https://sites.wustl.edu/krolllab/

Setting/Salary/Benefits:  Our laboratory is in an academic setting at Washington University School of Medicine, an internationally recognized research institution with a dynamic research environment and extensive infrastructural and core facility support. Postdoctoral appointees receive a starting salary based on the NIH NRSA guidelines and a generous benefit package (http://postdoc.wustl.edu/policies-benefits). For complete information, see http://medschoolhr.wustl.edu. St. Louis combines the attractions of a major city with family-friendly and affordable lifestyle opportunities (https://explorestlouis.com/). Post-doctoral appointees pursue independent research with additional professional development provided through the Office of Postdoctoral affairs (postdoc.wustl.edu/prospective-postdocs).

Qualifications: Candidates should hold a PhD with preference given to applicants with a strong interest in and research training relevant to the areas of neural development, stem cell biology, and transcriptional or epigenetic regulation. Successful applicants will manage independent research projects, including experimental design, written dissemination of findings through first author publications, and oral presentation of their research findings in institutional forums and at national/international conferences. Interested candidates should send a CV/names of references by email to kkroll@wustl.edu.
