Indiana University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, a national leader in clinical care, education, and research, is announcing the search for an Executive Director of the newly established Krannert Cardiovascular Research Center. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a visionary leader to advance the area of cardiovascular research with a significant infusion of resources and numerous collaborative partners in academia and industry. This individual will also serve as the Research Director for the IUSM-IU Health Cardiovascular Institute.

 

IU School of Medicine is the largest medical school in the country with more than 20,000 living alumni and 3,000 learners on nine campuses across the state. Its diverse faculty is made up of more than 2,900 full-time members and over 3,700 volunteer faculty who are responsible for training medical, graduate and postgraduate students. IU School of Medicine is the only allopathic medical school in Indiana. The school is in an exciting growth phase, increasing research funding by 40% over the last four years and continuing to invest aggressively in research. The Executive Director is a key component of Indiana University’s bold expansion of research.

 

This position is ideal for a mid to senior career level collaborative and transformational leader who can build on foundational cardiovascular research strengths within the Center, and the visions to develop new collaborations. Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate or Terminal degree, evidence of leadership and outstanding academic credentials such as a track record of extramural research funding, academic experience appropriate for the rank of Professor, and eligibility for licensure and practice in the State of Indiana, if MD. Excellent institutional resources will be committed to this position.
