The Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine (VIMM), a non-profit organization headquartered in Padova, Italy, seeks candidates to appoint the new Scientific Director. The VIMM hosts 20 research groups conducting cutting-edge basic and translational research in several areas of biomedicine, including neuroscience, oncology, mitochondrial medicine and metabolism, and muscle biology. The VIMM is close to the Life Sciences campus of the University of Padova and to its University Hospital. Most members of the Institute typically hold academic appointment at the University.

The Scientific Director will set the strategic vision for growing both basic, and translational research and will oversee its implementation across the research groups present at VIMM. He/she will be actively engaged in research, preferably within the scientific fields already represented at VIMM. The Director will also serve as the research ambassador of VIMM in building upon and further developing collaborative partnerships both internally and externally. 

The candidate should be an internationally renowned figure in biomedical research with a strong personal track record of publications, scientific achievements and successful experience in leading the scientific and administrative aspects of a multidisciplinary research enterprise gained within a clinical or research center.
