Job Details

Research Investigator opportunity in Critical Care - Research. Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field and five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience.

Summary

Research Investigator impacts the capability of the department or program to reach its goals at the department level by applying technical expertise and experience to coordinate, design, and carry out research projects.

Research Activities

Assist in the design and conduct of experiments to study epigenetic modifications in neutrophils during acute and chronic diseases.

Assist in the design and conduct of experiments to identify chromatin modifiers and inhibitors to modulate neutrophil functions in preclinical disease models.

Analyze genome-wide data by coordinating with Genomic core facility and collaborators.

Test new hypotheses related to regulation of inflammation in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases outlined in funded and proposed grants.

Develops specific design for each experiment and conducts data analysis and presentation.

Prepare and writes manuscripts for publication.

Research Safety & Compliance

Utilizes substantial experience in immunology, molecular biology techniques, epigenetics, and biochemical methods to conduct experiments and ensure safety.

Responsible for monitoring laboratory equipment and implementing safety procedures to include laboratory safety, quarterly reports, waste management, and IACUC inspections.

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Required: Five years of experience in scientific or experimental research work. With preferred degree, three years of required experience
