For over 30 years, Gilead has been a leading innovator in treating and preventing HIV and we developed today's leading medicines for treating viral hepatitis. But this expertise is just a foundation for our ambitions. As part of our research and development activities, Gilead is advancing a pipeline of novel investigational oncology agents with potential to address multiple tumor types. In this role, you will drive the global commercial development strategy for pipeline assets across multiple solid tumor and hematology indications. In close collaboration with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Value and Access, and Corporate Development, among others, you will be providing commercial insights and strategic plan to maximize the portfolio's clinical value and impact.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Commercial Product Strategy, Oncology, this role will:

 

 

  • Lead global commercial strategy and planning for pipeline indications (across heme and solid tumors) for magrolimab
  • Lead development of commercially impactful target product profiles, and effectively incorporate market intelligence and commercial perspectives into clinical development plans, including indication prioritization, trial endpoints, and implications of program strategic options
  • Lead cross-functionally across the R&D organization to drive development decisions and ensure programs have the potential to deliver differentiated therapies and commercial value
  • Lead commercial opportunity assessments in partnership with Commercial colleagues (Global Analytics & Insights, Global Value & Access, Competitive Intelligence) to understand current / future market dynamics and impact of programs on clinical / commercial value
  • Work closely with Global Analytics and Insights to conduct market research and develop preliminary forecast assumptions to assess opportunities and quantify launch potential
  • Partner on pre-launch marketing activities across indications to ensure a consistent global brand execution
  • Your ultimate benchmark will be the successful development of differentiated molecules that maximize the overall clinical impact and commercial value

 


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

We're seeking a strategic, influential leader and experienced global marketer with:

 

 

  • At least 10 years of relevant commercial experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Substantial Oncology commercial strategy experience
  • Strong understanding of oncology drug development process, regulatory pathways, clinical data analysis, pricing and access environments, and other factors that may drive program success
  • Strong analytical ability to conduct technical and quantitative assessments, derive key insights / implications, and implement within strategic plans and decisions
  • Demonstrated strategic ability to assess complex portfolio decisions and develop fact-based recommendations based on qualitative, technical, and quantitative analyses
  • Ability to develop deep and credible collaborations with partners in Clinical Development, Regulatory, Value and Access, Corporate Development, and external alliances
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and work successfully with varied audiences and executives
  • B.A. or B.S. required, MBA and / or advanced degree in life sciences or medical degree preferred
