The Faculty of Biology and Medicine (FBM) of the University of Lausanne is inviting applications for the position of:

 

Tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of infection immunology

at the Department of Biochemistry (DB)

 

Start date: 01.08.2021 or to be agreed             

Workplace: DB, UNIL-Epalinges campus

 

We are looking for candidates for this position working in the area of the immune response to infections, in particular viral infections, who have demonstrated excellence in their research and are interested in teaching.

 

Main tasks:

  • conduct an independent and innovative research of international quality likely to attract external funding in the field of immunology of infectious diseases,
  • teach at the pre- and postdoctoral levels,
  • take part in the academic life of the Department
  • show a strong interest in the teaching activities of the WHO Collaborative Center "Immunology, Research and Training"

The Department of Biochemistry undertakes cutting-edge interactive and multidisciplinary research in the fields of immunology, inflammation and infection. It benefits from excellent infrastructures, including access to sophisticated technology platforms in flow cytometry, imaging, proteomics, genomics and bioinformatics.

We encourage applications from highly qualified candidates in all fields of infection immunology, in particular viral infections, who aim to apply state-of-the-art techniques to address emergent topics. We seek candidates whose research interests and methodology are original and complementary to the Department’s strengths. The position comes with a competitive start-up package and funding for several research positions.
