A postdoctoral position will be available on an NIH/NHLBI Training Grant (T32) in the laboratory of  Dr. Robert Levy as of December 2020. The focus of the program is research training in the field of heart valve disease with a special emphasis on serotonin receptor mechanisms and platelet interactions.  PhD; MD; MD-PhD Candidates with both interest and experience in basic cardiovascular research should apply. Applicants with specific expertise in such fields as cell and molecular biology, biomaterials, bioengineering, immunology, pharmaceutics, and pharmacology are strongly encouraged to apply.   In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Kirschstein-NRSA training program; eligible candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.

The specific responsibilities include:

  1. Participating in a mentored scholarly research training program.
  2. Participating in project planning, recording and evaluation of data
  3. Acquiring skills needed for independence including technical expertise, lab management and grant writing training.
  4. Participation in seminars, lectures, poster sessions and presentations at national meetings
  5. Supervise junior lab members
  6. Assist with other research projects

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD, MD/PhD, etc.) or comparable terminal degree.

Required Experience: Demonstrated scientific and/or medical skills that support advanced research training in a laboratory-based, translational, or clinical research environment.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Additional Technical Requirements
