ROLE SUMMARY

GMP warehouse operations are a critical enabling function. The Warehouse Supervisor has responsibility for the 24 x 7 warehouse operation and this role provides supervision of Hourly warehouse colleagues in achieving the department operational goals. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the receipt, storage, and movement of inventory and to ensure that all warehouse operations are conducted in accordance with cGMPs following all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and in compliance with all regulatory requirements (i.e. FDA, DEA, DOT, HAZMAT, EPA, etc.).

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises hourly warehouse personnel [material handlers, logistics operators, clerks/specialist] responsible for performing warehouse duties.
  • Defines when and how material requisitions from manufacturing will be processed by warehouse. Aligns process to enable successful execution and the delivery of goods to support manufacturing activities.
  • Coordinates the movement of goods to deliver services and support to the site to make sure materials are received, stored, moved and shipped on-time and within compliance of all regulatory requirements as they pertain to warehouse (i.e. FDA, DEA, DOT, HAZMAT, EPA, etc.)
  • Provides oversight and ensures inventory accuracy as it relates to the entry of transactions, periodic cycle counts and performance of annual physical inventory.
  • Coordinates and manages personnel activities to ensure appropriate staffing coverage in the department; balance workloads across shifts; make sure material handlers receive appropriate training. Conducts routine team meetings and share information with teams in a timely and effective manner.
  • Actively engages in colleague development, including timely performance feedback, appraisals and other aspects of the performance management process
  • Responsible for GMP compliance as it relates to documentation practices in the completion of inventory control, receiving and shipping records.
  • Works with internal and external customers to ensure service levels are met through effective communication and problem solving.
  • Identifies process improvements and serves as a change agent for continuous improvement initiatives in regards to compliance, safety, risk minimization, product quality and waste reduction through application of IMEx principles.
  • Participates in and/or leads self-audit. Creates a state of audit readiness by ensuring the warehouse is maintained and cleaned appropriately to meet required standards.
  • Identifies and implements corrective actions resulting from inspections and incident reviews.
  • Establishes, maintains, and analyzes key metrics.
  • Assists manager with special projects and other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications
  • Education and prior pharmaceutical, warehouse and/or manufacturing experience required for this role. Prior experience includes strong knowledge, support and capability related to manufacturing or warehouse operations, methods and practices. Qualifying military experience may also be considered in lieu of industrial experience. Specifics are as follows:
    • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business or Science discipline preferred) with a minimum of 3+ years of experience and 1+ years demonstrated leadership capability in a pharmaceutical, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment
    • Associates Degree with a minimum of 5+ years of experience and 3+ years demonstrated leadership capability in a pharmaceutical, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
    • High School Diploma with a minimum 7+ years of experience and 5+ years demonstrated leadership capability in a pharmaceutical, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage, organize, problem solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast pace environment, while exercising leadership, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills, coordinating and working with all levels of Colleagues.
  • Experience performing inventory management transactions within an ERP system, experience with SAP ERP is preferable.
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Must possess basic math skills, strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills (oral and in written form).
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to operate various types of motorized forklifts


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a cGMP environment
  • HazMat certification


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours absent of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of required duties.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds required
  • 4 to 6 hours walking, bending, lifting, moving material.
  • Ability to follow GMP procedures


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
  • 2nd shift position
  • Mon-Fr 2:30pm to 11:00pm
  • Off shift call in hours may be required
  • Minimum expectation of 40 hours per week, unless otherwise dictated by management or business needs.
  • Able to work traditional and/or split shifts as well as weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
  • May be needed to travel between facilities when necessary.
  • Use of eye protection, gloves and other PPE is required.
  • Practice and promote a safe work environment at all times
