We have won several external research grants and are involved in several collaborative projects. Significant time will be invested in the fellow’s professional development including critical research skills, scientific writing and editing.

Specific Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be supported with resources to investigate the genetic, and immune mechanisms of cancer biology using liver cancer and pancreatic cancer models for solid-tumor biology. No prior experience with liver cancer and pancreatic cancer is required, but candidates should have an interest in translational research. The focus of the lab is to image-guided approaches for local therapy, immunology, and combination
therapy. Our overall goal is to improve outcomes for patients with liver/pancreatic cancers by focusing on the development and translational application of novel therapeutics.
Research projects associated with this fellowship may include:
• Identification of molecular mechanisms of carcinogenesis
• Mechanisms of immune activation in GI cancer
• Mechanisms resistance to chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD or MD/PhD
• Desire for independent research
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in animal models
• Experience in cancer research
