Visiting Lecturer in Biology

The Department of Biology at Amherst College invites applications for a visiting lecturer to teach an advanced laboratory course in cell biology or molecular genetics and to co-teach biochemistry with laboratory. This is a one-year position beginning on July 1, 2021, with the possibility of renewal for two additional years. Amherst College has become one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country. Within the last decade, the college has profoundly transformed its student body. We seek a colleague who is committed to teaching advanced topics of biology in a liberal arts college setting.  Pedagogical support is offered by Amherst’s Center for Teaching and Learning, and state-of-the-art classroom and laboratory facilities housed within the new science center, completed in 2018.
