TENURE-TRACK, FULL-TIME ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF CELL AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY

The Department of Biological, Geological, and Environmental Sciences at Cleveland State University invites applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor position beginning August 2021. The position will complement existing strengths in cellular and molecular biology research and our doctoral program, offered jointly with the Lerner Research Institute of the Cleveland Clinic. Biomedical researchers in the department maintain active research programs funded by major federal and foundation grants. We seek candidates working on important biological problems at the cellular and molecular level, with emphasis on computational/bioinformatics and structural analysis of complex biological systems.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and competitive startup funds will be provided. The applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, a minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience, a record of publications in peer-reviewed high-impact journals, demonstrated potential for excellence in research and teaching, and be supported by a current major extramural grant. Candidates who best match the position description, will have a research agenda focusing on computational/bioinformatics and structural analysis of complex biological systems, and have a successful history of receiving extramural funding. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or service to the excellence of the academic community.
