Are you an innovative, skilled and enthusiastic cancer biologist, excited to join am expanding team within an Oncology Synthetic Lethality Research Unit? If you are energized and passionate about finding the next generation of synthetic lethal cancer targets and developing novel oncology drugs, this Scientific Leader role is an excellent opportunity to consider.

In the Oncology Synthetic Lethality Research Unit, we leverage major scientific and technological advances, patient tumor databases, cutting-edge informatics platforms, and integrating biological pathways and functional genomics data to identify novel targets.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following :
  • Lead a highly motivated matrixed team to discover and develop novel oncology drugs with a clear genomic relationship to cancer.
  • Lead world class oncology drug discovery programs from target identification through clinical candidate nomination.
  • Manager studies focused on identifying and developing pharmacodynamic markers and assays for supporting non-clinical and clinical studies.
  • Manage a group of both PhD and non-PhD lab scientist within a dynamic and growing Synthetic Lethality group.


Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent work experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or related life sciences field with a strong scientific background in cell biology and oncology
  • 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated impact on small molecules and biologics drug discovery and/or development
  • At least one year of experience leading cross-functional drug development teams from target identification/validation through clinical candidate nomination.


Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • Literacy/knowledge on how to leverage cancer genomics data and analysis methods for discovery efforts
  • Demonstrated experience of developing and implementing new scientific strategies in the field of tumor biology coupled with a strong understanding of the goals of other disciplines that compose a drug discovery project team (e.g., DMPK, toxicology, chemistry)
  • Demonstrated experience to design, conduct, and analyze cellular and molecular biology experiments
  • Experience in managing lab staff
  • Experience in working with synthetic lethality targets
  • Extensive cell biology experience and experience in cellular mechanistic assay development
  • Experience with liquid handling equipment and robotic systems
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects as the portfolio evolves over time
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team/matrix environment
