Administrative Director, Protocol Research

From caring for patients to conducting clinical and translational research, the Lymphoma and Myeloma department is one of the largest multidisciplinary programs treating these cancers of the blood in the U.S.

Led by our faculty team of 25 physicians and scientists, our patients benefit from a team approach that includes our colleagues in radiology, surgery, radiation therapy, hematopathology, and stem cell transplantation, as well as clinical pharmacists, research and clinical nurses, social workers, and dietitians.

Job Responsibilities

Provides startup research development strategy for a division or equivalent size department. Develops new programs and finds grant opportunities for national and multi-site programs. Provides long-term strategic planning on research initiatives, including options, directions, funding sources, feasibility and priorities. Coordinates clinical trials and research approvals and monitors the research study and reporting process. Ensures that staffing and operational support meets protocol priority requirements. Develops and manages the divisional implementation of systems, policies and procedures, reporting of protocols and submission of grant applications. Manages research activities including laboratory and clinical operations, performance of clinical trials, drug accountability, regulatory compliance, quality assurance and submission of patient data. Develops and provides formal and informal education on administrative, quality and operational requirements.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in Science, Healthcare, Nursing or related field.

Education Preferred: Master's degree in Science, Healthcare, Nursing or related field.

Experience Required: Seven years of extensive research administrative experience in a biotechnology or academic setting to include three years experience with research protocols, grants and contracts and three years supervisory/management experience. With preferred degree, five years of required experience to include three years experience with research protocols, grants and contracts and three years supervisory/management experience. Successful completion of the LEADing Self Accelerate program may substitute for one year of required supervisory or management experience.
