The Zhou Lab at the Department of Biomedical Engineering the University of Alabama at Birmingham (https://www.uab.edu/engineering/bme/people/faculty/yang-zhou), is seeking for highly motivated and passionate postdoctoral research fellows to join our new and supportive group. We have just received new NIH funding and have several ongoing projects to investigate how the transcriptional factors regulate cell fate conversion using state-of-the-art genomic approaches (single cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, CUT&Tag-seq, etc.). Candidates are expected to contribute to all aspects of ongoing research projects including experimental design, bioinformatics analysis and manuscript preparation for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Candidates also have the opportunity to engage in ongoing collaborations with other groups from inside or outside UAB, and help to train and mentor lab personnel. Interested candidates are encouraged to read our recent publications: Cell stem cell 2019, 25 (1), 149-164. e9; Circulation 2020, 141 (21), 1720-1723; Nature 2017, 551 (7678), 100-104; Cell reports 2017, 20 (13), 3014-3024; Cell stem cell 2016, 18 (3), 382-395; Cancer cell 2016, 30 (1), 92-107.
Requirements:
Applicants are required to have an M.D. or Ph.D. in biological science or computational biology and substantial experience conducting independent research, with at least one first author publication in an internationally recognized, peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience in cell and molecular biology, cardiovascular biology, and bioinformatics is highly desired. Stipend will be commensurate with experience.
