Faculty Positions in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases

Tsinghua University School of Medicine invites applications for multiple faculty positions at junior and senior levels in microbiology and/or infectious diseases. Successful candidates will join the Center for Infectious Disease Research at Tsinghua University. The Center currently has 11 full-time faculty members. The mission of the Center is to promote understanding of the molecular mechanisms by which microbial pathogens cause diseases and resist antimicrobials. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree with a track record of excellent research accomplishments in studying pathogenic mechanisms of bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites; microbiota; host-pathogen interactions; microbial genomics; host responses to microbial diseases; vaccine research; antimicrobial resistance; or other relevant research areas.

Tsinghua University is one of the leading research universities in China. The School of Medicine and the School of Life Sciences host well-established research programs in microbiology, immunology, structural biology, stem cell biology, developmental biology, neuroscience, cancer biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology. There will be ample opportunities for collaboration. All faculty members have full access to the recently established core facilities in cell biology, protein science, genomics, and animal research. Successful candidates will receive an internationally competitive startup package (~US$1 million in startup funds, 2 Ph.D. student slots/year). Rank will be commensurate with experience.
