Research Assistant I

Mission

The mission of the Department of Genitourinary Medical Oncology is to reduce the morbidity and mortality of genitourinary cancers for the benefit of our patients and for future generations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. mice handling: Tumor tissue grafting, maintain tumor lines, minor surgical procedures, collection of peripheral blood and drug treatment.
  2. Tumor tissue processing, fixation and storage
  3. DNA/RNA/protein purification
  4. Gel electrophoresis and ELISA
  5. PCR/qPCR and RT-PCR/qRT-PCR
  6. Preparation of chemical solutions for experimental use and handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
  7. Handling of GEM models. Genotyping, CRISPR-based somatic gene editing.


Education Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.

Experience Required: No experience.
