The Public Affairs Director will report into the Head of Public Affairs in China and work closely with the cross-functional colleagues as well as other members of the Gilead global & China Public Affairs teams on a daily basis.
Main responsibilities
- lead on the corporate storytelling to strengthen the Gilead brand among the key internal & external stakeholders in China including but not limited to media, patient/community organizations, internal employees etc.
- lead on the planning and implementation of annual communications programs in the area of viral hepatitis (HBV + HCV) to continue raising the disease awareness among general public and patient populations
- be responsible for the approval/launch communications of new product/indication when appropriate to contribute to the success of local business strategy and development
- strengthen media communications to protect the reputation of Gilead and its products; manage issue communications when needed
- partner with global and local cross-functional colleagues to ensure the alignment and consistency of the communications efforts
- provide input to the content planning and distribution for corporate social media accounts
- manage agencies & project budget for effective and efficient work delivery
Requirements
- 15+ years' solid experiences on communications and public relations
- Experiences on campaign planning and management
- Experiences on patient/community organization engagement
- Strong content development skills in Chinese & English
- Fluent English writing and speaking
- Proactive, responsible, can do mindset and be able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Positive, pleasant, good interpersonal skills
