Job Details

The Operations Director, Quality and Regulatory Management coordinates and supports efforts essential to establishing, assessing, improving, and maintaining standards for laboratory quality assurance, safety, licensure, accreditation, and regulatory compliance, of clinical operations for PLM departments. The Operations Director is responsible for directing all strategic planning activities and initiatives for regulatory management of clinical operations for PLM departments. Direct reports include a Manager and 12 Quality Coordinators.

The Operations Director is also responsible for directing, planning, execution, analysis and evaluation of complex projects related to regulatory accreditation agencies for clinical operations, information technology, education, and other related areas within the Division of Pathology Lab Medicine. The duties and projects assigned to this position are cross divisional in nature and require significant, concentrated expertise and effort in order to ensure timely and

successful regulatory oversight.

The Director serves as the Quality and Regulatory liaison with all patient care areas and other Divisions across the institution.

Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Hospital/Healthcare Administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight years of operations/business management experience to include four years management in a clinical laboratory environment with clinical laboratory management activities. Broad understanding of quality performance indicators, processes and workflows.

Preferred: One of the following - Registered as a:

  • Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist
  • Clinical Laboratory Specialist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist
