Position Overview

San Diego Biomedical Research Institute (SDBRI) has an opportunity immediately available for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Laurent Verkoczy. Research in the Verkoczy lab focuses on understanding immune responses to HIV antigens primarily using antibody-humanized antibody mouse models. The successful candidate will be expected to work on various combinations of such models and primarily be responsible for specific projects that contribute directly or indirectly to the laboratory mission of ultimately developing an effective HIV vaccine, while also partnering with other lab members and outside collaborators as needed.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. preferably in the fields of Immunology or Virology and at least two years of relevant Postdoctoral experience. Candidates should also possess a strong practical knowledge of antibody immunogenetics techniques, as well as standard immune assays such as ELISA and flow cytometry. Prior experience with animal handling, vaccine research, B-cell culturing and activation assays, and strong communication skills, (especially writing scientific papers) are also all major pluses.

To be considered for this position, please provide a Curriculum Vitae and cover letter in a Microsoft Word or pdf format and email to hr@sdbri.og with the names and contact information for three professional references.
