Tenured and Tenure-Track Physician-Scientists in Basic and Translational Cancer Research

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center in partnership with the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University Irving Medical Center invites applications for physician-scientists to join a rapidly expanding program in translational cancer medicine. We are seeking the recruitment of new faculty applying for their first faculty position following clinical and research training (as tenure-track Assistant Professors) as well as mid-career and more established investigators (with rank commensurate with experience). We are seeking individuals with exceptional accomplishments and abilities in broad areas of basic and translational cancer research who have an interest in research that interfaces both with colleagues in the clinic and within the basic laboratory and computational sciences.

The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center is considering candidates with a diversity of clinical backgrounds and will work with candidates to arrange clinical appointments in the relevant Department/Division to complement their research activities. Moreover, successful candidates will be nominated for membership within the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center within one of four Research Programs and will have access to superb Shared Resources at discounted rates and a vibrant community of clinicians and scientists, both those working within cancer and those working in other areas across all of Columbia University and affiliated institutions.

We seek faculty members with a strong commitment to research, mentoring, and teaching, fostering a climate that embraces both excellence and diversity. Qualified MD or MD/Ph.D. investigators should have demonstrated scientific productivity and research momentum with a trajectory towards continued impactful contribution to cancer biology and cancer medicine.
