Post-doctoral position available for a highly motivated candidate with background in genetics and/or molecular/cellular biology to join a research group interested in signaling in thyroid cells and in mechanisms of thyroid carcinogenesis. The projects encompass the investigation of the genetic and epigenetic mediators of transformation in mouse models of thyroid cancer, their effects on the thyroid differentiation state and the role of the tumor immune microenvironment (see N Engl J Med. 2013 Feb;368(7):623-34; Cancer Discov. 2013;3:520-33; Proc Natl Acad Sci USA. 2017;114:E4951-E4960; J Clin Invest. 2018;128(9):4086-4097; Cancer Discov 2019 Feb;9(2):264-281; Cancer Discov. 2020 Dec 14:CD-20-0735. doi: 10.1158/2159-8290). Successful candidates will join a laboratory in the Human Oncology and Pathogenesis Program with extensive experience in studying the genetics and biology of thyroid cancer.
The ideal candidate should have:
● PhD and/or MD degree
● Strong laboratory skills
● Strong analytical and computational/bioinformatics skills
