Title Research Division Co-Chief (Tenure Track)
The Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine seeks an accomplished scientist to lead the broad portfolio of research activities in the Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine (LGM).
The Division Co-Chief is responsible for research related strategic planning, faculty recruitment and development, leadership of the physician scientist training program (PSTP), and, in collaboration with the Clinical Division Co-Chief, manages financial operations, space allocation, infrastructure and personnel that support Division. The Co-Division Chiefs report directly to the Chair and participate in all executive decision making for the Department.
Established in 1969, the LGM Division has a long and exceptional history in clinical laboratory service, research, and education. Beginning in 2016, Division leadership separated into clinical and research Co-Chiefs to address the growth and complexity of both disciplines. Investigator track faculty are national leaders in microbiome, DNA repair, host-pathogen interactions, immunobiology, cancer genomics and epigenetics, and computational pharmacology. Translational research collaborations with clinical faculty are highly encouraged and supported. The PSTP recruits outstanding physician-scientist trainees who contribute to the strength and diversity of the Division’s investigative endeavors. The Department of Pathology and Immunology and the School of Medicine provide outstanding opportunities for collaborations and access to specialized centers and state-of-the-art cores.
