Job Details
Cincinnati Children’s invites outstanding candidates to apply for tenure-track position to join the Heart Institute in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati. The applicant should have a PhD and/or MD with a research program that investigates the molecular biology of cardiac muscle or skeletal muscle. The successful applicant will join a multi-disciplinary world-renowned faculty performing cutting edge heart and skeletal muscle research with a strong emphasis on disease mechanisms.
Our existing faculty members are world-renowned researchers in developmental cardiac biology, pediatric and adult disease-based heart research, and skeletal muscle and muscular dystrophy biology, fibroblast biology and transcriptional regulatory mechanisms, which complements one of the strongest pediatric clinical heart programs in the country for translational research endeavors. The research Institute at Cincinnati Children's attracts over $250 million in annual external grant support, with approximately 1.4 million sq ft of research space, most of which was recently built. We also have some of the best core support infrastructure for a research institute anywhere in the USA. The successful applicant would be appointed within the Division of Molecular Cardiovascular Biology of the Heart Institute, headed by Jeffery D. Molkentin PhD.
