Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Job Description
This postdoc position is designed for a specialist in the fabrication and development of large scale perovskite solar cells by slot-die coating and their integration into mechanically stacked tandem solar cells. For this position, we are looking for a candidate with an already consolidated and demonstrated experience in high-efficiency perovskite solar cell fabrication and characterization. The experience on slot-die and blade-coating will be prioritized.
Responsibilities
Development and optimization of large scale perovskite solar cells by slot-die coating at different levels.
- Developing large area perovskite solar cells with slot-die coating via new chemical routes
- Fabricating high-efficiency perovskite solar cells and performing accurate device characterization.
- Fabrication and large scale module characterizations
- Manage project tasks towards successful completion.
- Dissemination of the research outputs in project meetings, peer-reviewed journals, and at international conferences.
- Writing regular reports for the project outputs
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in physics, chemistry, engineering, materials science, or closely related fields. For this application, extensive experience during Ph.D./postdoc in the fabrication of highly efficient single-junction perovskite solar cells is strictly required. The knowledge of the physics and chemistry of wide-bandgap perovskite would be an advantage. As a device fabrication position, the nature of the work requires a high level of experimental skills and involves the operation of sophisticated lab equipment such as slot-die coaters, thermal evaporators, glove boxes, laser scribers, solar simulators, etc. The ability to design and execute experiments, utilize advanced characterization techniques, and interpret measured data, are also required.
The candidate will be part of a strongly interconnected and highly cooperative team, and should therefore, be capable of working in a team environment. The candidate should also have a strong sense of personal responsibility, high motivation for innovation, excellence, and flexibility to work and deliver results.
KAUST benefits for postdoctoral fellows
KAUST offers a highly competitive salary. Benefits include housing, medical, dental insurance, K-12 education for dependent children (subject to availability), relocation allowance, and repatriation allowance. The candidates will enjoy the multicultural experience of KAUST in an international group with state-of-the-art facilities for the fabrication of solar cells and material characterization.
Application Deadline: January 31st 2021
Position Duration: 1 year (+1 year prolongation is possible)
