The Department of Biological Sciences (https://biology.utdallas.edu/) in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) invites applications for a tenure-system faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Candidates with strong research and teaching accomplishments in fundamental mechanisms of cancer initiation, metastasis, cancer genomics/proteomics/metabolomics, cancer immunity and other emerging cancer research areas are encouraged to apply. We especially encourage applications from candidates  using novel experimental and computational approaches to address broad and significant research questions in cancer biology that complement and expand existing departmental strengths.

The University has recently built a large cohort of faculty members across different disciplines who are actively pursuing research in cancer biology and therapeutics. The successful candidate will find a highly engaging and collaborative intellectual environment at UTD. As a tier-one research intensive university, UTD touts state-of-the-art core research facilities as well as modern research facilities to support the most advanced transdisciplinary research activities (https://research.utdallas.edu/researchers/core-facilities).  The State of Texas continues to provide a strong support for cancer research through research and recruitment awards (https://www.cprit.texas.gov).  UTD is dedicated to recruiting and advancing a diverse faculty body that reflects the enormously diverse community of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.

Applicants should upload a cover letter; curriculum vitae; statement of research philosophy; statement of teaching philosophy/experience; course evaluations (if available); a writing sample and the full contact information for at least three academic or professional references via the online application at http://jobs.utdallas.edu/postings/15122.

Candidates from underrepresented minority groups are especially encouraged to apply.
