Postdoctoral Position in HIV and Mtb immunotherapy
A post-doctoral fellowship is immediately available in the Department of Pulmonary Immunology at The University of Texas health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT). This position is opened to develop novel gene and immunotherapy strategies for treatments of HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection or co-infection. The major technologies used in these projects will be targeted gene editing of immune cells and CAR-T cells/NK cells.
The expertise/experiences required for this position include: Extensive expertise in immunology, especially in immune cells gene editing and/or viral immunity; extensive expertise in using multicolor flow cytometry and CRISPR technology; Experience in handling small animals (e.g., tail-vein injection and retro-orbital bleeding techniques, etc.) are highly required. Experience working on autologous or allogeneic cell Therapy engineering or analysis experience are preferred, but not required; Expertise in next generation sequencing and single-cell analysis platform technologies, is a plus; Experience in generating humanized mouse models is preferred. Relevant training is available upon hiring.
Successful candidates are expected to have a recent Ph.D. in Biological Sciences such as immunology, virology, biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, and other related fields. Candidates with prior research experience in gene and cell therapy are especially encouraged to apply. The salary will be according to NIH guideline, and commensurate with experience.
